DESIGN COMMUNICATION

[ARC62404]

Wooden Partition

The program introduces the necessary foundational abilities for effective architectural design communication. It employs several techniques for visualizing and expressing spatial concepts through architectural drawings in order to equip students with the abilities needed for design assignments. A sequence of structured and freehand drawings done both outsides and in the studio are used to teach these skills. Students will participate in a blended learning experience during the lecture and tutorial sessions as part of the module's teaching and learning strategy, which will be lecture and tutorial-focused.

Overall Reflection

Design Communication module allows me to hone my artistic skills and create the right architectural drawings. My instructors and tutors were quick to answer questions and try to explain important details throughout my first semester in architecture. The lectures are clear and the slides are detailed, which has helped me throughout my homework this semester. The step-by-step video tutorials provided by Dr. Lia were also very easy to understand and helpful when I needed them most. The overall Taylor graduate capabilities that I have learned for this module are Discipline-specific knowledge. Digital literacy, and Communication skills

Project 1

Movie Poster

This is done so that the poster can accurately depict the major plot of the film. It's crucial to capture the spirit of the film in the poster because this will guide all of your design decisions. Via the creation of a movie poster, students will be able to demonstrate the information and abilities they have gained through the previous tasks they have completed this semester.

Project 2

Farnsworth House

In this project, students will manually and constantly create two- and three-dimensional drawings utilising orthographic projections, axonometry, and perspectives. Exploring hand projection techniques for architectural drawings with an emphasis on architectural traditions, symbols, and line quality is the goal.

Project 3

Presentation Board and Model Making Process

Using presentation boards for architecture, you can highlight your work. They serve as a tool to engage visitors in the design methodology and process while also giving a broad overview and project vision. It is essentially a means for communicating design, showing artistic ability, and demonstrating designer sense.
