Project 1
DIAGRAMMING & ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES
In groups of 5-6 members, you'll each be assigned an architect and their prominent building. Conduct thorough background research on the architect and their selected work. Create detailed architectural drawings at a scale of 1:50 on A3 landscape format. Analyze the building through floor plans, sections, and elevations, focusing on design intentions, context, space planning, circulation, zoning, and structure. Translate your analysis into 5 precise and informative analysis diagrams and 5 diagrammatic models (8x8x8 cm) to express the underlying ideas of the key building.
Project 2
CONTEMPLATIVE PAVILLION
Students will conduct research on a chosen tropical environment, exploring its unique features and preferred exploration methods (e.g., ground level, multi-level, floating). They will also study architectural principles and analyze the effects of different materials on space, focusing on texture and construction techniques
Project 3
THE TROPICAL SANCTUARY
Students will design a 100sqm Tropical Sanctuary at Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam (TBNSA) for two people, focusing on areas for contemplation, rest, discussion, and daily activities. The design must blend with the tropical environment and apply architectural principles and materials to create a unique and functional space
